Why tallow?
Tallow is a nutrient-rich fat rendered from suet; the protective fat that surrounds the organs of cattle.
Beef tallow was widely used in traditional skincare across ancient and early modern cultures, but its popularity declined in the 20th century with the rise of synthetic ingredients and mass-produced cosmetics.

At Element Organics, our tallow is sourced from pasture-raised cattle on a small local farm in New South Wales, Australia. 100% grass-fed and finished, free from hormones and antibiotics.

All of our products are Australian sourced and hand-made in small batches in Queensland, Australia.
Will this clog my pores?
Beef tallow typically ranks between 1 - 2 on the comedogenic scale, which means it’s considered low risk for clogging pores, especially when it’s grass-fed, minimally processed, and blended with non-irritating, non-comedogenic botanicals.
Unlike many other natural skincare brands, Element Organics pay close attention to the comedogenic rating of the oils we incorporate into or face care products. All of our skin loving oils and ingredients rate LOW on the comedogenic scale with scores of 0-1 making them ideal for those with reactive skin.
As everyone's skin is different its good to be see how your skin harmonises with tallow. For some, its unfortunately not the answer and if that is you, we would recommend trying our Acne Healing Balm (coming soon).
